Every March 27 we celebrate Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day.

The name of this day says it all.

Country music lyrics can be quite silly. Although the titles don’t always give that away. But today is all about those titles that make you stop and wonder “What were they thinking?”.

And there are a lot. From old classics like You Can’t Skate in a Buffalo Herd from Roger Miller to newer songs like Brad Paisley’s I’d Like to Check You For Ticks (Huh?!!??).

The day is the invention of Tom and Ruth Roy of Wellcats.com. We’re not exactly sure why they felt it needed to be a day, but that’s no reason not to celebrate. (We rather like that Brad Paisley song anyway! ;) )
